Head Coach Chris Keenan

QRFC is a family oriented club and kids are the future of our club. We have in some cases two generations from the same family playing for the club at senior and youth level which is great to see.
We cater for kids at micro (P1-3) and mini level (P4-7).
Rugby at this level is non-contact and focused on having FUN!
Training is every Sunday at 10am – 11am (except holidays)
Rugby at this level is full-contact and we require all children to have a gum-shield.
Training is every Sunday at 11am – 12pm and Tuesday 6.30pm-7.30pm (except holidays)
Our coaching approach is centred on coaching through games and is all about enjoying what we are doing while learning about core rugby skills and values.
All youth coaches have the appropriate PVG certification for working with young people, and have undertaken UK CC Level 1 Coaching course and Rugby Right, the basic standard for coaching rugby.
Benefits of Rugby
Rugby has so many positive benefits including keeping kids active, developing friendships, and forming life-long values and skills. You may have heard of Scottish Rugby’s core values:
Respect, leadership, achievement, engagement and enjoyment.
We try to bring these aspects into our coaching to provide kids with a strong foundation to progress their rugby and take with them into other aspects of life.
Games and tournaments typically take place on a Sunday, and notifications will be sent out about any upcoming fixtures. Fixtures are usually for P3 upwards.
Keeping in touch
We rely on communication with our parents and carers via a closed Facebook group and private email distribution list to ensure that important information is received. If your child is taking part at youth level, please ensure you are signed up to both.
We organise a number of social events for kids and families throughout the year, including Halloween, Christmas and Summer BBQs.
